Glass – design
Printed glass is used mainly for decorative purposes. But also to ensure partial opacity or transparency. It is the architect's tool to differentiate, increase the attractiveness of the glass area.
We can overprint entire desktop or print any motif.
Graphical input is needed to deliver in digital form - curves.
Applicable technology
- silicic raster paint applied by screen printing or digital printing
- color UV curing technology
- two-component self-cured paints (lacquers)
- Silicate paints are applied raster screen printing or digital printing (Durst, Diptech).
- Colors must be cured after deposition at high temperature, typically at tempering glass.
- Can be used for large-format printing, decorations either through print or digital raster printing (it is a must for every decor manufacture unique screens – not suitable for smaller realization).
- Advantages:for greater realization - lower printing costs (silkscreen), higher surface durability of colors
- Disadvantages: the need to tempering after printing, costs for net production, limited range of shades, high price with digital print
- Color UV curing technologies are applied by digital printing.
- Can be used for any pattern or entire surface.
- It can be applied to tempered and non-tempered glass.
- Advantages: high display quality, printing to tempered glass, UV resistance
- Disadvantages: compared to silicon inks lower surface resistance, outdoors only in combination with laminated glass
- two-component self-cured paints (lacquer) are applied by spray or roller application.
- The possibility of allover applications and different motives.
- Advantages: easy application without the use of expensive machinery, low price, variability of use
- Disadvantages: of these types of colors having the lowest surface resistance, not designed for outdoors
