Basic float glass

– in building industry is used sodium-calcium-siliceous glass, which is made by melting glass batch in high temperature and  subsequently by floating in tin bath

Main parameters of float glass

  • sodium-calcium-siliceous flat glass made by method float
  • it is made in the classic version - slightly greenish or as extra-clear
  • it is a key semiproduct for production of other glass
  • when broken shatters into dangerous sharp "saber" - shards that may hurt you
  • can withstand a maximum temperature difference 30°C in glass area
  • glass is define by norm ČSN EN 572-2

  • Glass thickness: od 2 mm do 25 mm
  • Maximum size: 8000 x 3210 mm
  • Minimum size: according to the method of treatment
  • Maximum weight of panel: 2000 kg
  • Colours: slightly greenish (clear) to extra clear (transparent); colored glass in the mass (gray, green, bronze, blue, azure)
